The Firkin Islay is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2011 at the Islay distillery Caol Ila. It combines typical Islay peat smoke with the sweetness of the best Marsala wine. For this, Firkin's special double oak casks are first enriched with the finest Marsala. Then the Caol Ila is allowed to enter and combine its peat aroma with the Marsala sweetness. This takes the peat smoke back a little and makes it even more flattering and accessible.
